Price: £39 (per child)

Age: 8 to 11 / 12 to 16 year olds (will be split into age appropriate groups)
Times: 9:00am – 4:00pm (please arrive at 8:30am to sign in)

Introduction:

In recent years, girls’ rugby has seen a remarkable surge in popularity worldwide. To nurture this growing interest and talent, our girls rugby Masterclass offers a unique opportunity for young athletes to develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a love for the game. This overview provides a glimpse into what participants can expect from our program.

Program Objectives:

  1. Skill Development: Our master class focuses on honing fundamental rugby skills such as passing, tackling, kicking, and game strategy.
  2. Tactical Understanding: Participants will deepen their understanding of rugby tactics, including positional play, decision-making under pressure, and teamwork.
  3. Physical Conditioning: We emphasise the importance of physical fitness through tailored training sessions designed to improve strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
  4. Mental Resilience: Athletes will learn mental resilience techniques to overcome challenges, stay focused, and perform at their best both on and off the field.

All players are required to bring trainers & boots, as some sessions will take place in the Strength & Conditioning gym, the Sports Hall and of course the rugby pitches!

Coaches developing the programme are:

Rowland Winter is the former director of Rugby for Coventry RFC he transformed the club, bringing it into a new era of professionalism, and guiding it to the National League One title in 2018 and a return to the Championship. Prior to Coventry, he held various roles in professional, academy and community rugby. As Director of Rugby of Cambridge RFC, he led the club to win National League 2 in 2016, whilst concurrently heading up the coaching of the Northampton Saints AASE Academy partnership with Moulton College. Rowland has also spent time working with the RFU as a coach educator and directing aspects of the England U20 Divisional and England Counties programme as selector and coach.
